Hi all, I’m popping in to share something I think writers and storytellers will find quite useful. Longtime readers know most of my story, but the super super condensed version is that, like all authors, I had to learn how to write. Over the past decades, I’ve taken classes, read craft books, read literature, and submitted my own writing (not always successfully).
But on the eve of the publication of my third book, The American Daughters, out February 27, 2024, I thought I’d share some of what I learned over the years in the most compact way possible. You see, we learn a lot and keep most of that knowledge in our heads, but sometimes it’s convenient to have it all written out somewhere.
[And if you haven’t entered, we’re giving away 30 copies of the new book. Enter here.]
If you’ve taken any of my seminars, you may have seen what I’m talking about. Either way, below is an updated version of the trusty Maurice’s Story Craft Explorer, provided as a benefit to premium subscribers. You can refer to this whenever you’re writing and feel like something is missing. I use it all the time.
