Greetings to all readers, thinkers, and literati. I’m writing from the Black Rock residency in Dakar, Senegal where I’ve been for a week.
From time to time, I post items for premium subscribers as a thank you for making this space possible. Usually, I’ll post something that I’ve written that isn’t available or not widely available. But today let’s do something different.
This is a bespoke post made just for you.
If you’re reading this, then you know that I have a new book coming out (The American Daughters; One World Random House; March 5, 2024) It’s my third book, and you may also know that I revealed the cover on social media this week. I like to think that if a reader only reads my book once they’ll be proud to have my book prominently displayed on their coffee table. This way when visitors say, “hey, what’s that on your coffee table?” To which, the owner would proudly reply, “you mean that book with the striking, original, and gorgeous cover? Why, that’s a major work of exceptional artistic value. And the words inside aren’t bad either.” Ha ha. That was a little joke.
