I'm like 12 minutes in. Yeah, digital audio has higher fidelity because it chops out part of the sonic wave, in contrast to analog audio, which gets the full wave. That's wild. Less is more. I mean everyone says analog sounds "warmer" but most people who say that can't really hear it. I hear super well, and I don't actually hear it. This is my favorite episode so far for a few reasons, one of which being it reminds me of my favorite short story of all time, "The Soul is Not a Smithy" by David Foster-Wallace.

Also, I like how Delillo portrays art as experiments in living in Underworld, but then is Falling Man, he portrays it as a way of being an excessive piece of hubris-infested crap lol. Lots of double bind / paradox stuff involved, you know? E.g. Kurt Cobain used to "hate" the term Grunge, but look up his early videos and he's proudly using the moniker. Cobain loved Naked Lunch, but I've read Burroughs was super unimpressed when they met. And like, I think it's scary to have adventures because you'll find out that you're enjoying the adventure and not enjoying it.
